Good investment
Imagine buying something for $8 and then finding out that it has a worth of $38,000. Now I'm sure anyone would be simply ecstatic if this would happen but these sort of things only happen in dreams. Well for a woman from North Carolina this dream became a reality when she bought, Family Fitness: Stadium Events, at her local Goodwill for $8. This game was released in 1986 for Nintendo, now I'm sure everyone is wondering why this game is so valuable. It's because only 2,000 copies of this game were ever produced and only 200 were only able to be sold as a result of recall. Ultimately making this game very rare and a hot item to say the least. Hopefully one day I'll stumble upon some deal like this where I can make a good profit just as this North Carolina woman will.

F
4/20 marked the first day since the Boston bombings that the Boston Red Sox would play at home in their beloved hometown. An emotional setting to say the least, the Red Sox allowed first baseman/designated hitter, David Ortiz who's been with the team for the past 11 seasons, to say a few words before the game. And towards the end of his speech he summed up everything by saying, "This is our fucking city. And nobody's going to dictate our freedom. Stay strong.". Surprisingly the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), who oversees and polices what goes on the airwaves, let this slide. They even tweeted "David Ortiz spoke from the heart at today's Red Sox game. I stand with Big Papi and the people of Boston - Julius". This to me was a bold decision which I respect.
Social
Facebook is a website that has had millions of people buzzing for the past few years. While I got burned out on Facebook rather quickly others still continue to log in daily and use this social networking site regularly. Now the main reason I stopped using Facebook is because it became such a nuisance, getting notifications all the time from people about games such as Farmville. This was so annoying that it caused me to stop using the site all together. Apparently Facebook was soon to be considered the "next big thing" in gaming but recently there's been buzz going around that this trend is dying off slowly. Maybe this will draw me back in to using this site again.

Too little too late
Just a couple days ago the Louisville Cardinals Men's Basketball team won the NCAA Men's National Championship and their Women's Basketball team was in the NCAA Women's National Championship game. So for support the Men's team wanted to make the trip from Atlanta, where the Men's National Championship, was held to New Orleans, where the Women's was held. But they were originally denied the waiver to travel there by the NCAA because it would be considered an "improper benefit". Not too long after the NCAA changed their mind and agreed that they would allow the Men's team to make the trip. But they made this decision the day of the Women's game so it was too late because the team had already made the trip back to Kentucky.
Looking back
Growing up there was a few movies that I really enjoyed which are Space Jam and The Sandlot. And The Sandlot which many people know is a movie about baseball, recently celebrated it's 20 year anniversary. It's a really great story of a kid moving to a new town and being able to make some new friends. I'm sure we've all heard in our lifetime the famous quote "You're killin' me, Smalls!". But nonetheless, this movie turning 20 sort of makes me feel like I'm getting old as crazy as it is to say. This film came out in 1993, only one year before I was born. Growing up stinks and I don't like it.
Ready for summer
So far my Freshman year at Richard Bland hasn't been too bad. But that's not to say that I'm not excited for summer break because I really am. Looking forward to not having to worry about my studies or going to class. It's really going to free up a good bit of time for me to do what I want. I'm ready to go to the beach and have a good time instead sitting in a lame classroom. Hopefully I'm able to finish out this semester fairly successfully so I don't have to worry over summer break. Summer break come to me now.

Time well spent
I didn't really know what was going to come of this weekend. Mostly because coming into this weekend I had no plans which isn't usually the case. Starting Friday after I got off work my friend and I shot basketball for about an hour just to pass some time. Afterwards we went back to his house to kick it and then I went home to sleep. Waking up it was now Saturday morning and I got a call to do some yard work for someone to make a little bit of money, an offer I couldn't refuse. After I was done working my dad and I went to shoot guns with a few people which was a good time. I grabbed some Mexican food that night and then went to bed. Next day my friend and I went to a Richmond Flying Squirrels game where they won in extra innings 3-2. The game was exciting and we ate at Buz & Ned's BBQ afterwards, some of the best barbecue around. All in all, my what seemed to be uneventful weekend turned out much more eventful then I planned. It was a great time and ended up being time well spent.
